I am trained by Dr Geraint Florida-James an exercise physiologist at Napier University. Geraint is the founder of G-force training and over the years he has worked with numerous elite athletes in various sports. Geraint controls all aspects of my training, and race preparation. We have now successfully been working together for a few years and are starting to see vast improvements, we are both excited at the prospects of the future so watch this space! I cannot thank G enough for all the time and effort he has put into my mountain biking over the years. If I have one piece of advice for any budding athlete out there it’s spend some time and find a good coach, they will make you go faster than any carbon bike!

Currently I train 6 days a week, in fact it has got so bad I packed my bags last year and flitted to the Scottish borders to improve my mountain biking (one of the best decisions I have ever made!).

Ruth McKean (sports nutritionist): Ruth's nutritional advice has enabled me to maximise performance and recovery. Additionally she has also taught me a few lessons on hills and through it all has been a very good friend. RETURN TO TOP

Sarah Florida-James (Physiotherapist): Her name might not be Bob but I would put money on it that she will ‘fix it!’. Sarah has a vast experience of working with many elite athletes across a wide variety of sports. Over the last year she has helped sort out many of niggles I have incurred, most seriously my ankle injury. Without her help I would still be limping about the place pretending everything was ok. She can also often be found at races hanging around the feeding zones (just don’t tell her they don’t mean she wont get fed), handing out bottles and providing a lot of support! Wednesday night’s at G’s: Every Wednesday night the usual suspects pitch up at the G mans including Mississippi Forrest, Utah Forrest, The Cookie Monster, Dr Aitken, Baw Bag and myself Texas Ingram. Training is generally fast and furious, incorporating some of the steepest technical trails around. After training we all head back to G’s and enjoy some great food and a great laugh around the table . . . as my mum would say it’s the way it used to be done in the old days!

Kerry Ingram: She is the number one snap shot around and has to be thanked for settling up the website and all the photos taken over the years. Give her a shout if you are looking to set up a website! Her duties don’t stop there though, she also is a great bottle feed and driver (be aware though, never fall asleep you might just wake up and be on the wrong road). Cheers for all the help Peeps.
